The $10 million First Energy Stadium renovation project for the Reading Phillies was completed in time for opening day. The renovations under the main grandstand included a complete overhaul of the home locker room, visiting locker room, front office area and main electric room as well as the construction of a new Team Store and a new women’s restroom. The additions included the construction of new concession buildings, new men’s and women’s restrooms, a permanent stage for live performances, and a maintenance/storage building. The scope of the project also included concrete repairs and a new waterproof coating to the main grandstand; new sports-lighting package; construction of a new 196-space parking lot; repaving of the existing lot adjacent to the stadium; and, construction of new entry and food court plaza. The project was completed in less than seven months during the Reading Phillies off season.
