Burkey Construction Co. served as at-risk construction manager for a new treatment facility located in the City of Reading for the Children’s Home of Reading. Muhlenberg/Greene Architects Ltd designed the $5,600,000 facility.
The 36,000 square foot building includes administrative offices, resident rooms, kitchen and dining facilities, and nurse’s office.
Construction began in December 2001 and was completed in December 2002.
The project is constructed on a confined site on an urban campus located adjacent to an historical district. The project was funded, in part, by a community capital campaign.
