Joan Wolfe received the LEED Accredited Professional designation from the U.S. Green Building Council. Wolfe joined Burkey Construction in 2001 and is a senior project manager. Burkey now has three LEED Accredited Professionals and is committed to building green.
South Campus Stadium: Work is complete on a multi-purpose field and track area with stadium lighting providing soccer and lacrosse fields for both men’s and women’s sports at the university. An adjacent parking lot was constructed for team participants and spectators.
Work is complete on two ballfields for men’s and women’s baseball and softball. Each field includes a masonry press box, masonry dugouts, batting tunnels, and scoreboard.
Burkey Construction Co. recently completed construction of a 50,000 square foot, three-story building addition to Lancaster Laboratories’ South Campus facility in New Holland, PA. The building addition matches the existing building on the campus. Lancaster Labs is the largest contract lab in the country.
Construction of the R/C Theatre, located at 30 N. Second Street in Downtown Reading, was completed in August 2008. The 11-screen movie complex, which includes an IMAX large-scale movie theater, is the largest theatre in Berks County. The 1,700-seat movie complex is equipped with digital sound and pictures.

Burkey Construction was recently awarded the general trades package for the additions and alterations to Governor Mifflin High School located in Shillington, Pennsylvania. The project started in late June and consists of five additions and interior renovation of classrooms and corridors. It is a multiple phased project and is expected to be completed in February 2008.
